The collaboration between the Republic of Moldova and Poland on the military segment discussed with Ambassador Tomasz Kobzdej

CHISINAU, June 16, 2022 - The Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatii and the Ambassador of Poland to the Republic of Moldova, E.S. Tomasz Kobzdej, who was accompanied by military attaché Pawel Stuleblak, discussed the efforts to modernize the National Army in a meeting at the headquarters of the defense institution.

Minister Nosatii congratulated Ambassador Tomasz Kobzdej on his appointment and wished him success in fulfilling his mandate in the Republic of Moldova. The two officials addressed issues related to bilateral cooperation in the military segment, the participation of the National Army in international peacekeeping missions, the aspirations of European integration of the Republic of Moldova, but also the situation of regional security.

Likewise, the parties discussed the objectives of transforming the National Army into a modern institution, according to democratic principles, that would be interoperable with the armies of other states.

Minister Anatolie Nosatii thanked the Polish government for its assistance over the years in several projects and initiatives, such as the Defense Capacity Building Initiative (DCBI) and the NATO / Partnership for Peace project on the destruction of pesticides and chemicals from Moldova.

In the same context, Anatolie Nosatii expressed gratitude for the language and professional training of the National Army soldiers in specialized schools in Poland. For his part, Tomasz Kobzdej noted that Poland will continue to support the reform of the National Army`s defense institution.

Finally, officials talked about identifying new initiatives to strengthen the Moldovan-Polish military partnership.

It should be noted that Moldovan-Polish military cooperation began in 1998.
