The military and civilian employees of the National Army commemorated the heroes who fell in the battles on the Varnita-Tighina plateau

CHISINAU, June 19, 2022 - The military and civilian employees of the National Army participated in a series of events organized in the context of the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the fighting on the Varnita-Tighina plateau.

Thus, the Secretary of State, Sergiu Plop was present at the event organized on this occasion at the Memorial Chapel in the village of Varnita, and Anenii Noi district. The official, together with the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Grosu representatives of state institutions, local public authorities, and war veterans laid flowers at the Memorial Chapel and the monument "Sorrowful Mother" in memory of the heroes who fell in the tragic battles.

At the same time, the military and civilian employees of the Balti garrison participated in a rally to commemorate those who fell on the Varnita-Tighina plateau during the actions to fight for the defense of the territorial integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova in 1992.

Also, in the context of marking the 30th anniversary of the conflict on the Dniester, the Agency for Military Science and Memory (ASMM), in collaboration with the Military Academy of the Armed Forces "Alexandru cel Bun" and the Institute of History, organized the round table "30 years since the armed conflict on the Dniester". During the event, the book "The Armed Conflict from the Dniester: Bibliography" was presented, recently published by (ASMM) and the Scientific Library (Institute) "Andrei Lupan".
