The Ministry of Defense is strengthening its collaboration with Civil Society

Chisinau, November 22, 2022 — The Ministry of Defense and the Public Association “Platform for Initiatives of Security and Defense ” (PISA) concluded a collaboration agreement in order to promote the culture of security in society.

According to the document signed by Secretary of State Valeriu Mija and PISA Executive Director, Natalia Albu, the two institutions are to cooperate in order to implement Resolution 1325 of the UN Security Council on Women, Peace and Security, as well as the professional development of civilian and military personnel . A special emphasis will be placed on the aspect of strengthening and developing the institutional capacities of the Ministry of Defense.

Thus, the Public Association is to support the defense institution in its efforts to implement strategies, programs and policy documents within the National Army in order to improve the political-legal foundations of defense in accordance with the principles of a democratic government.

Additionally, the PISA Platform will participate in the formulation of proposals regarding the adjustment of policy documents developed by the Ministry of Defense in the European integration process.

Likewise, the document provides for the organization and participation in joint training and scientific activities.
