Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatîi, in dialogue with the Chancellor of the Lithuanian Government, in Vilnius
Vilnius, November 23, 2022 — Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatîi had a meeting with the Chancellor of the Lithuanian Government, Giedrė Balčytytė, on the second day of his official visit to Vilnius.
The discussions focused on Lithuania’s experience in managing the refugee crisis and other emergency situations, the needs of state institutions in this field, as well as the actions undertaken by the Republic of Moldova and Lithuania in developing resilience against hybrid threats and disinformation among society.
In this regard, Giedrė Balčytytė informed Minister Nosatîi about the inauguration, starting from January 1, 2023, of the National Crisis and Emergency Management Center within the Lithuanian Government. The structure will be responsible for continuous (24/7) monitoring, assessment and information on threats to national security.
For his part, Anatolie Nosatîi mentioned that, in the current security context and the crises our country is currently facing, Lithuania’s experience in the prevention and management of emergency situations will be very useful and welcome for the responsible institutions in the Republic of Moldova.
On the same day, the Minister of Defense discussed Lithuania’s defense policies and cyber defense system with specialists of the Defense Policy Directorate and the Cyber Security and Information Technologies Directorate of the Ministry of National Defense, respectively.
At the same time, at the invitation of his counterpart, Arvydas Anusauskas, Anatolie Nosatîi participated in the festivities dedicated to the 104th anniversary of the creation of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, which took place in the Cathedral Square in Vilnius.
