Demining missions of military officers in November

CHISINAU, December 5, 2022 — The National Army officers neutralized, this November, 14 explosive objects of various types.

According to the head of the Genius Service of the National Army, lieutenant-colonel Igor Livitchi, during the respective period 12 demining missions were executed in the localities of the districts of Stefan Voda, Nisporeni, Hincesti, Anenii Noi, Ungheni, Dubasari and the municipality of Chisinau.

The source mentioned that recently, the team of the “Codru” Engineers Battalion, led by Sergeant Evghenii Axentii, was requested in the village of Talmaza in the Stefan Voda district. Following the agricultural works, a 320 mm caliber reactive projectile dating from the Second World War was found. Being in a deplorable condition, the object was destroyed under conditions of maximum security in the field.

It should be noted that in the current January-November period, the groups of engineers from the units of the National Army carried out 169 demining missions, as a result of which 494 explosive objects of various types and 13,161 cartridges were destroyed.
