The Military College, in the first session of 2023

CHISINAU, January 12, 2023 — The members of the Military College met today, at the Ministry of Defense, in the first meeting of the current year.

The agenda of the meeting included discussions on the policy priorities and general objectives of the Ministry of Defense for the year 2024, the vision of the defense sector for the National Security Strategy, as well as the impact on the process of drafting policy documents on the defense sector, projects and acquisitions ( strategic) for the year 2023, but also the results of the implementation of the budget for the year 2022 and the draft budget for the years 2023-2025.

Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatîi, who presided over the meeting of the Military College, mentioned that the meeting is taking place in a not easy period due to the war launched by the Russian Federation against Ukraine in February 2022.

“This aggression generated a multitude of negative effects for the critical infrastructure in the field of transport and energy at the regional level, including the Republic of Moldova. Our country is currently facing several crises simultaneously — the economic crisis, the energy crisis, and the refugee crisis — which are having dire consequences for our country’s economy. However, the Ministry of Defense and the National Army continue to fulfill their missions, at a high professional level and within the established terms”, declared Minister Nosatîi.

The official expressed confidence that today’s discussions will be constructive, for the benefit of the further development of the defense institution, and urged those present to come up with suggestions for improving the activity in the context of the topics discussed.
