The commander of the National Army participates in the NATO Military Committee meeting



CHISINAU, January 18, 2023 — The Commander of the National Army, Brigadier General Eduard Ohladciuc, is participating, between January 18-19, at the meeting of the NATO Military Committee in the format of the heads of general staff of NATO countries and partner countries, held in Brussels, Belgium .

The program of the event includes the aspects of strategic importance at the level of the Alliance, at the present time. Among the topics addressed are the war in Ukraine, security challenges, the acceleration of the implementation of doctrinal documents.

At the same time, the heads of the armies participate in a series of sessions dedicated to current problems in the field of defense and security worldwide, current challenges and threats and the Alliance’s contribution to their prevention.

Also, during today’s day, General Ohladciuc will participate in the meeting dedicated to the planning and implementation of peacekeeping operations under the auspices of NATO, with an emphasis on the KFOR mission in Kosovo, in which the Republic of Moldova has been participating since 2014.

During his stay in Brussels, the commander of the National Army will have meetings with the President of the Military Committee of the European Union (CEUMC), General Robert Brieger, as well as with his counterpart in Italy, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone.
