The Ministry of Defense, in dialogue with French deputies
CHISINAU, March 28, 2023 — The Secretary of State for Defense Policy, National Defense Planning and Military Interoperability, Valeriu Mija, had a meeting with a French delegation made up of deputies, members of the Commission for Defense and Armed Forces of the National Assembly of France .
The main topics on the discussion agenda concerned the regional security situation and its effects on the development of the Republic of Moldova, as well as the perspectives of cooperation with France in the military segment, including within international organizations.
During the meeting, the officials reviewed the current state of the Moldovan-French partnership in the military sector, with an emphasis on assistance in the field of training the National Army and the exchange of experience between cadets from the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of France, as well as military reform according to the standards of a good democratic governments.
During the dialogue, Valeriu Mija thanked the French deputies for supporting the desired European integration of the Republic of Moldova at the international level, as well as for the support given over the years to our country in order to manage various crisis situations.
At the end of the meeting, the Secretary of State expressed his confidence that the collaborative relations between the two states in the field of defense will expand in several areas, including the development of strategic communication capabilities and public diplomacy in the current security context.
