Turkish Defense Attaché Visits Ministry of Defense



CHISINAU, September 13, 2011 — Chief of Main Staff, National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Iurie Dominic, had a meeting with the new Turkish attaché to Republic of Moldova from Bucharest, Col. Hikmet Yokaribas, who is in a work visit to our country.

During the meeting, the military officials made a review of the current bilateral defense relationship between the two countries, discussed about the military reform, political and military situation, as well as other issues of major importance.

The National Army Commander appreciated the development of the cooperation relationship between Republic of Moldova and Turkey. The official congratulated the Turkish diplomat on his assignment as a military attaché of Turkey to Republic of Moldova. Brigadier Gen. Dominic expressed his belief that the cooperation between the two armies would progress throughout the new Turkish defense attaché’s mandate.

Col. Hikmet Yokaribas was assigned Turkey’s defense attaché to Moldova in Bucharest in May 2011.
