Brigadier Gen. Iurie Dominic Gets Retired



CHISINAU, November 18, 2011 — The Head of Main Staff, National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Iurie Dominic, retired today, November 18, within an official retiring ceremony held at the Ministry of Defense HQ.

Minister of Defense, Vitalie Marinuta, appreciated Brigadier Gen. Iurie Dominic’s efforts to the development of the National Army. “Military reform and the growth of the readiness level of the Moldovan army are the key elements describing the mandate of Brigadier Gen. Iurie Dominic”. Marinuta thanked the Army commander for the great management skills while conducting the troops. The Minister specified Iurie Dominic will be always considered a model military man for all Moldovan servicemen.

Gen. Iurie Dominic pointed out the progress in the development of the army throughout his activity as the head of the Main Staff is due to the servicemen’s professional competence, confidence of the leadership of the country, as well as Republic of Moldova citizens that show much respect towards the military institution.

“Those who have important positions and whose decisions the future of the army depends on are to bring the change of the army to a good end. You should prove the Moldovan army has a European future”, Gen. Dominic said.

Brigadier Gen. Iurie Dominic was assigned Commander of the National Army in May 2010. He retires from active duty after 28 years of service.
