The People`s Republic of China has a military attache in Chisinau



CHISINAU, June 27, 2023 — Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatîi had, today, a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China in Chisinau, Yan Wenbin in the context of the presentation of the first accredited Chinese military attaché for our country.

On this occasion, Minister Anatolie Nosatîi appreciated the creation of the Defense Office of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Chisinau, which will be represented by the military attaché, Colonel Tian Wei, noting that this is an important mission, in the context of maintaining and developing the diplomatic relations established between the two states during more than three decades, including in the defense segment.

For his part, His Excellency Yan Wenbin stated that the Government of the People’s Republic of China wishes to promote bilateral cooperation with the Republic of Moldova, including in the military field, and the opening of the Defense Office in Chisinau is the most relevant confirmation of this.

At the same time, the officials discussed the bilateral collaboration between the armies of the Republic of Moldova and the People’s Republic of China, the prospects of its intensification, the reform to modernize and transform the National Army, as well as the political-military vision of our country.

In this context, the Minister of Nosatîi thanked the Chinese side for the technical and material assistance in the medical and logistical field offered to the National Army, but also the training programs for national military personnel in relevant institutions in China.
