Moldovan Service Members Train for the "Fire Shield" Exercise



CHISINAU, June 13, 2022 - Moldovan and Romanian service members participated on June 6-10 in the "Fire Shield" exercise which took place at the"Smardan" Secondary Combat Training Center in Galati, Romania.

According to the rector-commander of the "Alexandru cel Bun" Military Academy (MAAF), Colonel Anatolie Bucuci, a detachment of MAAF students who trained with the soldiers of the 335th Artillery Battalion "Alexandru cel Bun" participated in the "Shield of Fire" "from Botosani.

The source noted that the applications were aimed at ensuring interoperability and improving the coordination process in international peacekeeping missions.

The gunners fired from different types of weapons, including a 152 mm gun-howitzer, being involved in field missions specific to the field of activity.

The participation of the Moldovan military in the joint training exercise "Fire Shield" in Romania is part of the training plan of the National Army for 2022.
