Representatives of the diplomatic and military corps of EU and NATO states based in Chisinau, at the Ministry of Defense

CHISINAU, August 2, 2022 —Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatii met today, at the headquarters of the defense institution, with representatives of the diplomatic and military corps accredited in the Republic of Moldova from the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance, based in Chisinau.

The talks included topics regarding international cooperation in the field of defense, the current state of the implementation of military reform and modernization of the National Army, as well as the security situation in the region. Minister Anatolie Nosatii appreciated, in this sense, the support offered by external partners in various projects and programs of bilateral and international assistance aimed at the advancement of military reform, according to democratic standards, as well as the modernization of the National Army. At the same time, the Minister of Defense emphasized the aspirations to intensify the participation of the Moldovan military in peacekeeping missions, as well as to adjust the defense institution to international standards.

Other topics addressed during the working session referred to the priorities of the management of the defense institution, including the provision of aid to civil authorities in crisis situations, but also the intensification of collaboration with external partners.
