Defense policy priorities for 2023, for the attention of civil society organizations



CHISINAU, February 2, 2023 — Defense policy priorities, development projects with external partners, as well as the contribution of the National Army to international peacekeeping missions were the main topics discussed, today, in a meeting with the participation of representatives of the academic environment and society organizations civil.

Present at the event held at the Agency for Science and Military Memory, Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatîi appreciated the contribution of non-governmental organizations, as well as the academic environment, to the development and advancement of security culture. “We want the defense institution and the efforts it makes to be visible in society and, at the same time, to constructively address our problems and concerns in the field. This is why, your assistance is very important for us in these difficult days, when the country is facing various crises and challenges, as a result of the war in Ukraine, which affects different sectors, including the defense one”, said Minister Nosatîi.

In this sense, the Minister of Defense thanked those present for their support in combating the phenomenon of disinformation regarding defense, as well as the dissemination of strategic messages in the field, expressing his confidence that the constructive dialogue established between the Ministry of Defense, the academic environment and civil society will be strengthened in time.

Other topics on the agenda of the constructive discussions concerned the achievements and existing deficiencies in the context of the collaboration of civil society with the defense institution of the Republic of Moldova.

It should be noted that the purpose of the meeting was to strengthen the collaborative relations between the Ministry of Defense, the academic environment and civil society, as well as to promote the decision-making transparency of the institution through the principle of good democratic governance.
