The new ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for the Republic of Moldova, at the Ministry of Defense

CHISINAU, December 19, 2023 — The Minister of Defense, Anatolie Nosatîi, received, today, at the headquarters of the defense institution, the new ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for the Republic of Moldova, E.S. Fern Horine. The British diplomat was accompanied by the Defense Attache, Squadron Leader Matt Eager.

On this occasion, minister Nosatî congratulated E.S. Fern Horine upon assuming the mandate and wished her success in her diplomatic activity in our country. During the discussions, Anatolie Nosatîi emphasized the good collaborative relationship with the British side, expressing his conviction that with the appointment of the official in this position, the bilateral partnership between the two states, including in the field of defense, will experience an even greater rise.

The parties discussed the assistance provided by the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the modernization of the National Army, including through international organizations, the prospects for the intensification of bilateral cooperation, as well as the path to the European integration of the Republic of Moldova.

The Minister of Defense, Anatolie Nosatîi appreciated, in the context, the support of the British side in the European aspirations of our country, in the implementation of democratic reforms in our country and in the consolidation of several important sectors of the Republic of Moldova, including security and defense.

At the same time, the official thanked the British partners for the assistance projects carried out in the National Army, the training of the National Army soldiers in profile institutions in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and by the British Mobile Advisory and Training Team (BMATT), but also for consultancy and expertise in several important areas for the defense structure.
