The Commission for the elaboration of the National Defence Strategy met at the Ministry of Defence

CHISINAU, February 8, 2024 — The members of the Commission for the elaboration of the National Defence Strategy (NDS) held their first working meeting today at the Ministry of Defence.

The agenda included the presentation and approval of the organisational aspects, deadlines and modalities of work of the Commission and the Inter-institutional Working Group for the elaboration of the new National Defence Strategy.

In opening the meeting, Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatîi, who chairs the Commission, stressed the importance of drafting the new strategic document in line with the current security environment and the national objectives and priorities stipulated in the National Security Strategy, approved by the Moldovan Parliament in December 2023.

The official encouraged the members of the Commission and the Inter-institutional Working Group to be fully involved so that the new National Defence Strategy is qualitative and developed in the established terms. “In this way, we will be able to continue the reforms of our country’s security and defence system aimed at strengthening the national defence capabilities!” said Minister Anatolie Nosatîi.
