Minister of Defense attended the Contact Group meeting in support of Ukraine

CHISINAU, March 20, 2024 — Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatîi participated on Tuesday, March 19, in the Contact Group Meeting in support of Ukraine, held at Ramstein Air Base, Federal Republic of Germany.

The agenda of the discussions included topics on the current security situation in the region, the aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine. The participants also discussed ways to assist the neighboring country.

During the meeting, Anatolie Nosatîi held a series of bilateral discussions with counterparts from partner states, where they discussed the current state of cooperation and the contribution of external partners to the goal of strengthening Moldova’s defense capabilities and increasing national resilience to security challenges in the region.

Another topic focused on the hybrid war conducted by the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova, including through cyber-attacks and disinformation campaigns, and its impact on the country’s security and development.

Officials agreed on the need to maintain a constant dialogue at the level of defense institutions in order to establish new directions of cooperation.

The Contact Group meeting in support of Ukraine is an international platform at the level of defense ministers of North Atlantic Alliance allies and partners to disseminate information on assistance to Ukraine.
