The postage stamp: 30 years of Moldova`s accession to the Partnership for Peace, launched at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration



CHISINAU, March 26, 2024 — Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatîi today participated in the public event launching the postage stamp “30th anniversary of Moldova’s accession to the Partnership for Peace”.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi and Head of the NATO Liaison Office in Chisinau Michaela Guerard Šimák, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to Chisinau from the member states of the North Atlantic Alliance.

Minister Nosatîi noted that over the past three decades, the Republic of Moldova has benefited from extensive assistance in the development and modernization of our defense sector. “From assistance projects to joint exercises and exchanges of experience, we have had the opportunity to learn and grow together with our external partners. Today, we can be proud of a modernized and well-trained military, capable of fulfilling its constitutional missions and contributing to international peacekeeping efforts. The launch of the postage stamp expresses our gratitude to our NATO partners and to all those who have contributed to strengthening national security and stability, and is a testimony of our commitment to the values of peace and stability,” said Anatolie Nosatîi.

The Head of the NATO Liaison Office in Chisinau, Michaela Guerard Šimák, reviewed the main achievements of the long-standing partnership between NATO and the Republic of Moldova, stressing that “the 30 years of partnership demonstrate the maturity of bilateral cooperation, which is closer and more dynamic than ever... NATO will continue to support Moldova’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the country’s path towards European integration, which is undoubtedly to the benefit of all Moldovans”.

During the ceremony, officials symbolically signed the postage stamp.

The anniversary stamp was launched at the initiative of the NATO Liaison Office in Chisinau, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in partnership with the State Enterprise “Posta Moldovei”. The stamp is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the signing by the Republic of Moldova of the Framework Document of the Partnership for Peace Programme.
