Moldovan peacemakers, participants in DANCON March



CHISINAU, April 16, 2024 — Soldiers from the 20th contingent of the National Army, deployed in the KFOR peacekeeping operation in Kosovo, recently participated in the DANCON March (Danish Contingency) competition held in Novo Selo.

According to the commander of the KFOR-20 contingent, Major Petru Tutunaru, during the sporting event, the Moldovan peacekeepers covered the distance of 23 km, carrying campaign backpacks weighing at least 10 kg.

They competed alongside over 1000 other soldiers from 23 countries. The money collected was donated to charity.

DANCON March (Danish Contingency) is a tradition of the Danish army that dates back to 1972. The charitable sports action is organized annually in the countries where the Danish army has deployed troops.

The soldiers of the National Army have been participating in DANCON March since 2014.
