The collaboration between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, as well as the current security challenges, discussed in a seminar attended by the Minister of Defense, Anatolie Nosatîi



CHIŞINĂU, April 30, 2024 — The Minister of Defense, Anatolie Nosatîi, participated, today, in the seminar “The European Union and the Republic of Moldova: geopolitical particularities and the effects of the war of the Russian Federation in Ukraine on the Republic of Moldova”, organized by the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova. At the opening of the event, the official mentioned that the discussions at today’s event will ensure a better understanding of the national, regional and international security situation, in the context of the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union, as well as the challenges that the democratic world is currently facing, including our country.

At the same time, Minister Anatolie Nosatîi appreciated the assistance offered by the European Union to strengthen national defense capabilities, through the European Instrument for Peace, also referring to the support recently approved by the Council of the European Union. In this context, the official thanked the EU ambassador to the Republic of Moldova Jānis Mažeiks for the opportunity to participate in this seminar and emphasized that “only through solidarity, unity and cohesion can we overcome all current security challenges and increase the country’s resilience to hybrid threats, including cyber security and countering disinformation actions”. The seminar “The European Union and the Republic of Moldova: geopolitical particularities and the effects of the war of the Russian Federation in Ukraine on the Republic of Moldova” brought together representatives of relevant ministries, the Supreme Security Council and other entities in the field, as well as ambassadors accredited to the Republic of Moldova.
