Slovakia has a new military attaché for the Republic of Moldova



CHISINAU, December 15, 2020 – Slovakia`s new military attaché for the Republic of Moldova, based in Kiev, Colonel Josef Sury, was presented today to Defense Minister Victor Gaiciuc by Ambassador Dusan Dacho.

During the meeting, Victor Gaiciuc congratulated Colonel Josef Sury on the occasion of his appointment and wished him success in the exercise of his mandate. The Minister of Defense expressed his hope that the Moldovan-Slovak cooperation relations will evolve due to the vast experience of the military official in the field.

Victor Gaiciuc also thanked the Slovak side for the assistance provided in the context of the participation of the Moldovan military in the European Union Mission for Military Training and Counseling for the Defense and Security Forces in Mali - EUTM.

In turn, Colonel Josef Sury mentioned that he will make efforts to contribute to the strengthening of the partnership between the two armies, by carrying out various joint projects and programs.

The parties also spoke about the defense reform, the current state of cooperation of the National Army with international partners, respecting the neutrality status of the Republic of Moldova, the epidemiological situation in the country and the defense institution, but also about the development prospects of cooperation between the two armies.
