The Minister of Defense and the Ambassador of Ukraine to Chisinau discussed bilateral military cooperation



CHISINAU, June 22, 2020 - The current state of bilateral defense cooperation and joint activities in this context were the main topics of the meeting of Defense Minister Alexandru Pinzari with the Ambassador of Ukraine to Chisinau, Marko Shevchenko.

Officials also discussed the current situation regarding the spread of the new coronavirus in our country and the measures taken by the leadership of the National Army to prevent COVID-19 among the troops.

At the same time, the parties addressed the regional situation and the prospects for the development of the partnership between the National Army and that of Ukraine.

Alexandru Pinzari and Marko Shevchenko reviewed the participation of Moldovan and Ukrainian soldiers in multinational exercises in Ukraine and other countries, expressing regret over the postponement of joint training activities this year due to COVID-19 .

At the end, the officials agreed on the development of Moldovan-Ukrainian sectoral relations in the field of vocational training and training, logistics, as well as the defense industry, through bilateral initiatives and projects beneficial to both armies.

Moldovan-Ukrainian military cooperation began in 1993.
