UK Parliamentary, at the Ministry of Defense

CHISINAU, July 18, 2022 — Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatii had a meeting with the chairman of the Defense Committee in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, Tobias Ellwood.

The talks included subjects related to bilateral collaboration in the field of defense, the security situation in the region, military reform, as well as cooperation with international organizations in the framework of assistance projects.

The Minister of Defense appreciated, in this sense, the partnership between the two countries and its evolution over the years, the support given by the British Government in several areas, including the implementation of the Professional Development Program, the linguistic training of the National Army, the training of the Moldovan military in the most prestigious specialized educational institutions in the United Kingdom.

The parties also addressed the actions to transform the Army of the Republic of Moldova into a modern institution, adjusted to international standards, as well as the objective of European integration of our country.

In this regard, Anatolie Nosatii informed the British official about the main priorities of the leadership of the defense institution, including the provision of aid to civil authorities in crises and the intensification of participation in peacekeeping operations worldwide.
