Three decades since the introduction of the Joint peacekeeping Forces in the Security Zone of the Republic of Moldova

 CHISINAU, July 29, 2022 — Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatii and Commander of the National Army, Brigadier General Eduard Ohladciuc, participated in Cocieri and Varnita, in the ceremonies dedicated to celebrating 30 years since the introduction of the peacekeeping operation in the perimeter of Moldova`s Security Zone.

In Cocieri, Anatolie Nosatii mentioned that despite the current regional security context, with challenges and crises affecting the entire society, the national Army soldiers, who perform their service within the peacekeeping mission in the eastern districts of the Republic of Moldova, continue to do their duty with professionalism, honesty, and dignity, being a guarantor of stability in the region.

"Today’s event has a clear message — we want peace and diplomatic resolution of the transnistrian conflict, and you have a major role in this context. Thank you for everything you do for the Republic of Moldova and our citizens. I urge you to continue your service with self-denial because you have a noble mission to fulfill – to maintain peace and stability in the region,” said Minister Nosatii.

During the ceremonies, a group of peacekeepers received awards and diplomas from the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff.

An event of this kind also took place in the Peacekeeping Subunit in Cosnita, attended by Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian.
