Mission accomplished for the Moldovan peacekeeping contingent, KFOR-19



CHISINAU, 05 February 2024 — The soldiers of the 19th contingent of the National Army, deployed in the peacekeeping operation KFOR, have completed their mission in Kosovo. On this occasion, a ceremony was held in Military Camp 142, attended by Minister of Defence Anatolie Nosatîi and Commander of the National Army Brigadier General Eduard Ohladciuc.

In his congratulatory message, the Minister of Defence praised the high professionalism of the Moldovan contingent in its area of responsibility within Regional Command West. At the same time, a group of peacekeepers was decorated with diplomas and medals of the National Army for their excellent performance during their mandate.

For six months, the 41 soldiers carried out guard and defence missions of strategically important infrastructure objects, security missions of the “Camp Vilaggio Italia” base, including the Visoki Dečani Monastery, as well as engineering search and detection of explosive objects in the area of responsibility.

It should be noted that Moldovan peacekeepers have been participating in the KFOR peacekeeping mission since 2014.
