National Army military participate in multinational exercise “Sea Shield 2024”



CHISINAU, April 8, 2024 — A platoon of Moldovan military personnel is training during the multinational exercise “Sea Shield 2024” in Romania this April.

The National Army servicemen will train in the field and will only execute combat firing alongside Romanian servicemen at the “Babadag” Secondary Combat Training Centre.

The aim of the exercise is to increase the level of interoperability, synchronize operational procedures between the military of different states and develop capabilities for the execution of missions.

The multinational exercise “Sea Shield 24” is the most complex event conducted by the Romanian Naval Forces, through the Naval Component Command “Vice Admiral Ioan Georgescu”.

About 2100 military personnel from Bulgaria, France, Georgia, Greece, Italy, the United Kingdom, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Turkey and the United States of America participate in the training.

Moldovan servicemen are participating in the exercise in accordance with the Training Plan of the National Army for the current year and the Foreign Activities Plan of the Ministry of Defense and the National Army for 2024.
