The Government approved the decision on conscription of citizens for military service from April to July 2024

CHISINAU, April 10, 2024 — The conscription load for the period April — July 2024 is up to 1,450 conscripts for military service in the National Army, and 10 for military service with reduced term. A decision in this regard was approved today at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

According to Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatîi, the conscription of citizens into military service is carried out annually in accordance with Law No. 1245 of 18 July 2002 on training citizens for the defense of the Motherland. The enlistment takes place twice a year, in phases, according to the schedule drawn up by the Ministry of Defense, in April-July and October-January respectively.

According to the document, the recruits shall be medically examined by the medical-military commissions of the administrative-military authorities, in the volume and manner prescribed by law.

The military service in the National Army lasts 12 months, and the reduced term — 3 months, for which graduates of higher education institutions are drafted.
