The National Army received an aerial surveillance system

CHISINAU, December 20, 2023 — The National Army has received an air surveillance system. He recently arrived in Chisinau, by air.

The radar was purchased from the national defense budget, through the French company “THALES”, which provided informational and logistical support.

According to the Minister of Defense, Anatolie Nosatîi, that system is vital for strengthening the capabilities in the air defense field of the Republic of Moldova. “In the current security context, the safety of our citizens is a priority. The latest incidents of violation of our country’s airspace have brought back to the authorities the urgent need to strengthen the defense capabilities of the Republic of Moldova. This system, which will ensure the monitoring of the entire airspace of the country, will complete the series of measures undertaken in order to equip the National Army with international standards. In this sense, I express gratitude to the country’s leadership for the attention given to the field of defense, but also to our external partners, including the French Republic, for the support offered in achieving this goal”, said Anatolie Nosatîi.

The acquisition of the air surveillance system comes in the context of strengthening the defense capabilities of our country and modernizing the National Army.
