The “Partnership of the Year 2024” award for the National Army

CHIȘINĂU, April 19, 2024 — During the current April 17-19 period, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the National Army, Brigadier General Sergiu Cirimpei, participated in the “Bilateral Partnership State of North Carolina — Republic of Moldova” conference, held in the United States of America.

During the event, the National Army delegation had a working meeting with Major General Marvin T. Hunt, Commander of the North Carolina National Guard (NCNG). The dialogue included topics related to the reform of the defense sector, the achievements of the partnership with the National Guard of North Carolina, the programs and initiatives implemented during 28 years of collaboration.

Also, military officials were present at the awards ceremony for the North Carolina National Guard and the National Army, who received the State Partnership of the Year award for their excellent results in 2023. The award was given to Major General Marvin T. Hunt and Brigadier General Sergiu Cirimpei.

The National Army of the Republic of Moldova collaborates with the National Guard of North Carolina USA within the Partnership Program between States since 1996.
