The second workshop within the regional general staff exercise „Regex 2024” was launched

CHIŞINĂU, April 22, 2024 — The second workshop in the framework of the regional general exercise “Regex 2024” takes place between April 22 and 26.

The purpose of the activity is to train the military according to Western standards for planning and conducting exercises, managing crisis situations, consolidating and evaluating the level of interoperability of forces in a multinational environment. The “Regex 2024” exercise is organized with the support of the NATO Joint Forces Command in Naples, Italy.

The superior of the exercise Lieutenant-Colonel Vladimir Covalenco mentioned that the organization of the general staff exercise is an opportunity to develop the relationship with the NATO partner states, as well as to demonstrate the commitment of the Republic of Moldova in promoting peace and stability in the region.

We remind you that the “Regex 2024” exercise consists in organizing several workshops during the current year. The first workshop took place between February 16 and March 1, 2024.

About 30 representatives from NATO partner countries participate in the training module: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Uzbekistan, Egypt, Jordan, Kingdom of Bahrain, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Tunisia, Egypt, Malta, African Union (Ghana and Benin) , as well as staff officers from the National Army.

The Regional Staff Exercise “Regex 2024” takes place in accordance with the National Army’s Combat Training Plan for the current year and the External Activities Plan of the Ministry of Defense and the National Army for 2024.
