The members of the Commission for the elaboration of the National Defense Strategy met at the Ministry of Defense

CHIŞINĂU, April 23, 2024 — At the Ministry of Defense, today, the second meeting of the Commission for the elaboration of the National Defense Strategy (NDS) of the Republic of Moldova took place.

The topics of the meeting concerned the progress made within the Interinstitutional Working Group and the next actions regarding the elaboration of the document. In this sense, during today’s meeting, the Commission ensured the validation in principle of the initial draft of the SNA.

The Minister of Defense, Anatolie Nosatîi, who is the president of the Commission, appreciated the activity of the members of the inter-institutional working group and emphasized that thanks to the involvement of each participant, the project was considerably improved. At the same time, Minister Nosatîi emphasized that the Roadmap for developing the Strategy is an ambitious one, and the terms are very limited. That’s why he still requested full effort to finalize the strategic document.

It should be noted that the project is to be consulted with civil society and academia.
