The KFOR-11 contingent returns home (video)

CHISINAU, December 16, 2019 - The return ceremony of the 11th contingent of the National Army from the KFOR operation took place at the Ministry of Defense, in the presence of Minister Victor Gaiciuc and the Chief of General Staff, Brigadier General Igor Gorgan.

During the event, a group of soldiers was decorated with Government diplomas and National Army awards for excellent performance during the six-month term in Kosovo.

The Minister of Defense appreciated the way in which the soldiers in the contingent fulfilled their duty as peacekeepers in the KFOR operation, demonstrating that the National Army has a well-trained force, trained in accordance with international standards.

"For me and for all your colleagues, it is a pride to have you close, gentlemen peacekeepers, and to enjoy together the successes you have achieved away from home. And I want, on behalf of all, to thank you for representing us honorably in Kosovo, along with contingents from over 20 countries" said Victor Gaiciuc.

The 11th contingent of the National Army was in Kosovo between June and December. It was replaced by another contingent of Moldovan soldiers during a transfer of authority ceremony held last weekend at the multinational base "Camp Vilaggio Italia" in Pech.
